India's top singles player, Sumit Nagal, has withdrawn from the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Sweden due to a back injury, dealing a significant blow to the Indian team. The match is scheduled to be played on September 14-15 in Stockholm.

Nagal, who recently suffered a first-round exit at the US Open, posted on social media that he has been advised by doctors to rest for the next two weeks. This injury also forced his withdrawal from the US Open doubles event. He expressed deep disappointment but emphasized the need to listen to his body to avoid worsening the injury and to prepare for future competitions.
