Scott McTominay, the Scotland international midfielder, has concluded a 22-year tenure at Manchester United to join Serie A's Napoli, the Premier League club announced on Friday. The 27-year-old, who has been with United since the age of five and racked up 178 Premier League appearances since his senior debut in 2017, inked a deal with Napoli valued at 30.5 million euros ($33.70 million).

"McTominay will be missed by everyone at the club and leaves with our best wishes as he embarks on a new chapter of his career in Italy," Manchester United expressed in a statement. This move marks Napoli's second prominent acquisition from the Premier League this week, following Romelu Lukaku's transfer from Chelsea on Thursday.

McTominay had his final outing for United when he appeared as a late substitute during Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion. Under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte, Napoli secured their first league victory with a 3-0 win over Bologna last weekend and now prepare to host Parma on Saturday. ($1 = 0.9050 euros)
