Former Australian head coach John Buchanan has praised Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, calling him an 'exciting' talent and noting that his adjustment to Australian conditions could be pivotal for India's campaign in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year. Buchanan, renowned for leading Australia to World Cup victories in 2003 and 2007, was speaking at the launch of 'Ready Steady Go Kids' in partnership with CP Goenka International School and Sports Gurukul.

'There is a lot of talk about him, isn't there? He is an exciting young player, and certainly one to watch,' Buchanan said. 'He (Jaiswal) hasn't played in Australia or on a wicket like Perth's in a Test match. His ability to adjust to these conditions might be a barometer for how India performs in the series,' he added.

Jaiswal boasts an impressive record with 1028 runs and three centuries in just nine Test matches, averaging 68.53. He is the second-highest run-getter in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle, only behind England's Joe Root. Jaiswal's stellar performance against England earlier this year saw him scoring 712 runs, including two double centuries, making him the highest run-scorer of the series. The Australia-India series kicks off on November 22 in Perth, followed by Tests in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, concluding on January 7.
