Hockey India has unveiled an 18-member squad for the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy, set to commence on September 8 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China. The tournament will witness top hockey nations from Asia, including India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and hosts China, competing for the prestigious title.

Defending champions India will be captained by renowned drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh, with experienced midfielder Vivek Sagar Prasad serving as vice-captain. Following the retirement of veteran PR Sreejesh, goalkeeping duties will be handled by Krishan Bahadur Pathak and Suraj Karkera. The defensive lineup includes Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Harmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, and Sumit.

The midfield will see the likes of Raj Kumar Pal, Nilakanta Sharma, Manpreet Singh, and Mohd. Raheel, while the attack will be spearheaded by a youthful forward line consisting of Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Uttam Singh, and debutant Gurjot Singh. Chief Coach Craig Fulton expressed the significance of the campaign in building ranking points and highlighted the blend of experience and youth in the squad. India's campaign will kick off against China on September 8 and conclude with matches against Japan, Malaysia, Korea, and Pakistan before the semi-final and final rounds on September 16 and 17.
