Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis broke his own world record by clearing 6.26 meters at the Silesia Diamond League meeting. This marks the 10th time he has set a new world record, beating his previous mark of 6.25 meters set in Paris earlier this month. Olympic silver medallist Sam Kendricks finished second.
Sweden's Mondo Duplantis has once again shattered the pole vault world record, clearing 6.26 meters on his second attempt at the Silesia Diamond League meeting on Sunday.
Adding another feather to his cap, Duplantis broke the world record for the 10th time, surpassing the 6.25 meters he achieved after retaining his Olympic gold medal in Paris earlier this month. The 24-year-old demonstrated his dominance, clinching victory at 6.00 meters before raising the bar to a new height.
"This year I focused on the Olympics, the record just came naturally because I was in good shape," Duplantis remarked. The crowd, fully supportive, witnessed history as the Swede soared to new heights. Olympic silver medallist Sam Kendricks of the United States cleared 6.00 meters to take second place.
