Novak Djokovic expressed his eagerness to continue his record-breaking journey as he opens his U.S. Open title defense, just three weeks after winning gold at the Paris Games, solidifying his status as the greatest tennis player in history. Djokovic aims to capture his 25th Grand Slam title and become the first U.S. Open champion to successfully defend his title since Roger Federer in 2008.

The 37-year-old tennis star is set to play his opening match on Monday against Radu Albot under the lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium. "The goal is always to reach the finals and compete for the trophy. My mindset remains unchanged this year," Djokovic stated during a news conference.

Despite his triumph at the Paris Games, Djokovic has faced setbacks in 2024, losing crucial matches to younger players like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Nonetheless, his Olympic performance showcased his fine form, and he remains driven by his rivalries with younger athletes. "These rivalries inspire me to push myself and perfect my game," he added.
