Lando Norris Snatches Pole from Verstappen at Dutch Grand Prix
Lando Norris secured pole position at the Dutch Grand Prix, becoming the first driver to out-qualify Max Verstappen at his home circuit since 2021. Oscar Piastri followed in third, with George Russell in fourth. Red Bull's Verstappen will still line up alongside Norris, preparing for a competitive race.
Lando Norris of McLaren clinched the pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix in a convincing fashion, marking the first time Max Verstappen has been out-qualified at his home circuit since its return in 2021.
Oscar Piastri of McLaren secured third place, while George Russell filled the second row for Mercedes. "I felt comfortable out there, and the car was amazing with our upgrades working well," Norris said.
Despite his setback, Verstappen remains a formidable rival on race day, with Red Bull boss Zak Brown applauding his 'monster lap.' McLaren now trails Red Bull by just 42 points in the championship.
