Alpine's Formula One team has been wrestling with years of mismanagement, but a turnaround is in sight by 2027, claims executive advisor and former team boss Flavio Briatore. In a press conference at the Dutch Grand Prix, Briatore and newly appointed principal Oliver Oakes emphasized that the Renault-owned team is not up for sale despite its current setbacks.

Once champions during the 1990s as Benetton and in the 2000s as Renault, Alpine now stands eighth in the overall rankings with a mere 11 points after 14 races. Decisions regarding the team's future engine provider, considering a switch from Renault to Mercedes, will be made soon, Briatore stated. He also pointed out that Alpine needs a streamlined workforce, although reductions would come from natural attrition rather than layoffs.

Oakes, starting his role at the Dutch Grand Prix, mirrors Red Bull's Christian Horner in bringing youthful energy and experience from junior series. He aims to reignite Alpine's racing spirit rooted in its storied history. Despite acknowledging past leadership flaws, Oakes expressed optimism about the team's future prospects, advocating a focus on building a strong car and cohesive team to achieve long-term success.
