Draw Announced for Durand Cup Quarterfinals: Mohun Bagan to Face Punjab FC

The quarterfinal matchups for the ongoing Durand Cup have been revealed, pitting defending champions Mohun Bagan FC against Punjab FC. The draw, held virtually, confirmed the fixtures for the tournament set to conclude on August 31. The decision was made to shift the second quarterfinal to Shillong.

The quarterfinal matchups for the ongoing edition of the Durand Cup were unveiled following a virtual draw held with representatives from the eight qualifying teams. Defending champions Mohun Bagan FC will face Punjab FC.

According to an Indian Super League (ISL) press release, representatives of the teams participated in a video call to finalize the matchups. The draw was conducted live, determining the venues and opponents for each quarterfinal clash.

The decision was made to move the second quarterfinal from Kolkata to Shillong, factoring in the playing conditions. The Durand Cup, which commenced on July 27, will conclude on August 31 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. The tournament saw 24 teams, including one from Nepal and all 12 Indian Super League (ISL) teams, compete for the title.
