The Indian government has launched the PM e-DRIVE Scheme, a comprehensive initiative with an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore aimed at promoting electric mobility across the country. The scheme is expected to support the deployment of 2,479,000 electric two-wheelers, 316,000 electric three-wheelers, and 14,028 electric buses, along with the installation of 88,500 EV charging sites.

Shailesh Chandra, President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, praised the initiative, citing it as a significant step towards India's transition to electric mobility. Chandra noted, 'This forward-thinking initiative reflects the Government's unwavering support for India's transition to electric mobility, fostering innovation and investment within the sector.'

M&M Group CEO & MD Dr. Anish Shah echoed similar sentiments. 'We applaud the government for launching the PM e-DRIVE scheme. With continued focused support on two-wheelers, three-wheelers, e-buses, and the addition of e-ambulances, the scheme will drive higher EV penetration in the country,' he stated.
