West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite is optimistic about the potential of the team's young test bowling attack and batting line-up despite their recent series defeat to South Africa. The Windies were narrowly defeated by 40 runs on Saturday at the Providence Stadium in Georgetown, resulting in a series loss after a draw in Trinidad & Tobago.

This marks the Windies' 10th consecutive series loss to South Africa, having won only three of the 34 tests between the teams. However, Brathwaite noted several positives, particularly the performances of quick bowlers Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales, as well as spinners Gudakesh Motie and Jomel Warrican.

Joseph and Seales delivered impressive figures, fostering excitement despite the Windies' struggle to meet the 263-run target set by South Africa. "The guys have a lot of potential and talent," Brathwaite asserted. However, he emphasized the need for the batting line-up to learn and improve consistency through mental toughness. The Windies, who recently faced a 3-0 series defeat in England, now look to their next test series against Bangladesh in November.
