Parthib Gogoi, a promising 21-year-old winger from Assam, plays for NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) and harbors ambitions to become the best footballer in India.

Since joining NEUFC from Indian Arrows in June 2022, Gogoi has made 35 appearances and scored eight goals. He honed his skills at Bengaluru's Ozone Football Academy and with Indian Arrows, representing India in various age-group competitions, including the U20 and U23 national teams.

In a recent interview with ANI, Gogoi shared, "My goal for the next five years is to become the best player in India. That is the only goal." He cited Sunil Chhetri and Lionel Messi as his football idols, drawing inspiration from their resilience and determination.

Reflecting on a conversation with Chhetri, Gogoi said he received valuable advice on player conduct, both on and off the field. "He advised me on diet, mentality, and coping with challenges. This guidance will help me evolve as a player," Gogoi noted. Recently, he scored his first senior hat-trick for NEUFC against Shillong Lajong in the Durand Cup.

Gogoi expressed his contentment with NEUFC, appreciating the learning environment and support from the coaching staff, including CEO Mandar Tamhane. "I am enjoying my time here and learning a lot," he said, revealing his focus on contributing to the team's current and future successes.

Despite challenges, Gogoi maintains a positive outlook. "I don't dwell on bad games. One bad game is okay; the next one will be better," he said. Having extended his contract, he affirmed, "This is my home."

As Gogoi eyes winning the Durand Cup, Indian Super League (ISL), and Super Cup, he remains cautious about his long-term goals but is determined to make a mark. Providing insight into his approach to scoring, he mentioned honing long-range shots using PlayStation as a practice tool.

With his aspirations and promising performances, Parthib Gogoi emerges as a player to watch in the ongoing Durand Cup and upcoming ISL.
