In a significant move ahead of the Africa Qualifiers for the 2026 T20 World Cup, former Indian all-rounder Dodda Ganesh has been appointed as the head coach of Kenya's men's cricket team.

Ganesh, 51, who has a rich experience in first-class cricket, faces the daunting challenge of restoring Kenya's cricketing glory, reminiscent of their best-ever finish in the 2003 World Cup semifinals. The Kenyan team will compete in upcoming tournaments including the ICC Division 2 Challenge League in September and the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers in October.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the new role, Ganesh took to social media to say he feels 'privileged' to lead the team. He will be supported by former Kenyan internationals Lameck Onyango and Joseph Angara as deputies.
