German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, on Thursday voiced his support for Neeraj Chopra as the ace javelin thrower competes in the Olympic men's javelin final. Ackermann, who considers Chopra a friend, extended his best wishes saying, 'hopefully you will return triumphant'.

The ambassador also acknowledged Chopra's training in Germany, underlining the role of his German coach and the preparations in Saarbrucken, a town near the French border. 'We also have a stake in that.. we wish him all the best,' Ackermann noted.

Additionally, Ackermann conveyed his hopes for Germany's men's hockey team, set to compete against the Netherlands for the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. 'I wish the German team best for their hockey gold,' he stated. Ackermann released a supportive video message for Chopra, emphasizing, 'German are very happy that you chose a German trainer'.
