Defence Minister Applauds Manu Bhaker's Historic Olympic Wins
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended star pistol shooter Manu Bhaker after her remarkable performance at the Paris Olympics, where she won two bronze medals. Bhaker, who made history by becoming the first Indian post-Independence to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics, will return to Paris to serve as the female flag bearer at the Closing Ceremony.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised star pistol shooter Manu Bhaker on Thursday after meeting the double Olympic bronze medallist, lauding her achievements at the Paris Games.
Singh expressed that every Indian is elated by her incredible performances and shared a photograph of their meeting in a post on social media platform X.
Bhaker, who returned home on Wednesday, made history at the ongoing Paris Games by becoming the first Indian in the post-Independence era to secure two medals in a single edition of the Olympics. She will head back to Paris on Saturday to serve as the female flag bearer for the Indian contingent at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday.
