India's sole rower in the Paris Olympics, Balraj Panwar, has advanced to the repechages after finishing fourth in the men's singles scull heat on Saturday.

The 25-year-old rower clocked 7:07.11, trailing New Zealand's Thomas Mackintosh, Stefanos Ntouskos of Greece, and Egypt's Abdelkhalek Elbanna.

The top three finishers from each heat automatically qualify for the quarterfinals. Panwar, who secured fourth place at the 2022 Asian Games and a bronze at the Asian and Oceanian Olympic Qualification Regatta in Korea, will now get another shot at advancing to the semifinals or finals in the repechages.
