This year's edition marks the debut of Mauritius, while Syria makes its second appearance. Notably, this will be India's first major tournament without legendary player Sunil Chhetri, who retired from international football at the end of India's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. India, currently ranked 124th by FIFA, stands as the second-best-ranked team in the tournament.

Manolo Marquez will debut as head coach of the Indian team in this tournament, following his appointment after Igor Stimac's departure. Marquez, who has a successful track record in the Indian Super League, is expected to lead the team to new heights.
