Renault's Alpine Formula One team is bracing for yet another leadership shakeup as Bruno Famin leaves his role next month. This marks the team's fifth change in leadership in four years. Famin's departure brings uncertainty as Alpine also considers buying engines starting in 2026, rather than manufacturing its own.

Famin, who will oversee other Renault Group motorsport activities at Viry-Chatillon, took over a year ago from Otmar Szafnauer. Szafnauer had succeeded Laurent Rossi, who had in turn replaced Cyril Abiteboul in early 2021. The Enstone-based team's managerial instability contrasts sharply with the steadiness at top teams like Red Bull and Mercedes.

Reports suggest Oliver Oakes, the founder of the Hitech GP Teams in Formula Two and Three, could be Famin's successor. As the team heads into its August break post the Belgian Grand Prix, Alpine's struggles continue with just nine points from 13 races, positioning them eighth overall this season.
