The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed Anilkumar Prabhakaran from Kerala as its new secretary general, following an executive committee meeting on Saturday. This decision, endorsed by AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, ends the interim tenure of M Satyanarayan.

The AIFF stated, "Based on the recommendation of AIFF President Shri Kalyan Chaubey, the Executive Committee of the AIFF has resolved today to appoint Mr. Anilkumar Prabhakaran as the Secretary General of the AIFF." Prabhakaran's appointment is subject to AIFF Constitution protocols and induction procedures, and he will assume his role post-completion.

Prabhakaran's appointment comes in the wake of Shaji Prabhakaran's dismissal last November, which was purportedly due to dissatisfaction among state bodies. Shaji criticized the decision as irresponsible and part of a conspiracy.
