Argentina Rugby Team Revamps Lineup for Second Test Against France
Argentina has made five changes to their rugby team for the second test against France in Buenos Aires. Coach Felipe Contepomi hopes to reverse last weekend's defeat. Key changes include Franco Molina starting in the second row and Pablo Matera marking his 100th cap.
Argentina has instigated five changes to their rugby team ahead of their second test match against France set for Saturday in Buenos Aires. Coach Felipe Contepomi, who is under pressure after a surprising 28-13 defeat in his debut match last weekend, announced the new lineup on Thursday.
Franco Molina, who impressed off the bench in his first cap, is now set to start in the second row alongside Lucas Paulos. Mayco Vivas will replace Thomas Gallo in the front row, while veteran players Alemanno and Gallo move to the bench.
The coach has also altered the backline with Lautaro Bazan Velez stepping in at scrumhalf, Santiago Cordero returning at fullback, and Santiago Chocobares taking up the center position. This match will also celebrate flanker Pablo Matera's milestone 100th cap, making him only the third Argentine to achieve this honor.
