The Centre has relieved BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal and his deputy Special DG (West) Y B Khurania from their duties, sending them back to their state cadres. Agrawal, a Kerala cadre officer, and Khurania, from Odisha, have been 'prematurely' repatriated per government orders.

The Centre on Friday relieved BSF Director General (DG) Nitin Agrawal and his deputy Special DG (West) Y B Khurania from their duties, according to an official order.

Nitin Agrawal, a 1989-batch officer from the Kerala cadre, and Y B Khurania, a 1990-batch officer from the Odisha cadre, have been sent back to their respective state cadres.

Agrawal, who assumed the role of Border Security Force chief in June last year, and Khurania, who oversaw the force's operations along the Pakistan border, were repatriated with immediate effect by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
