Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Thursday that India is advancing to become a significant power in sports and tourism, with Jammu and Kashmir playing a crucial part.

Speaking at SKICC, Modi highlighted, 'India is moving towards being a major power in tourism and sports. Jammu and Kashmir possesses abundant talent in both sectors.'

He added that the region boasts great sports infrastructure in every district, with around 100 Khelo India Centres being established. Additionally, 4,500 athletes are training for national and international competitions, transforming Jammu and Kashmir into India's winter sports capital. 'Over 800 players recently competed in the 4th Khelo India Winter Games, which paves the way for international sporting events in the region,' Modi remarked.

'Jammu and Kashmir showcase unique sports talent, and I envision them making India proud,' he concluded.
