In response to the destruction wrought by relentless rain and harsh winds, Bengaluru authorities have taken decisive action. Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, heeding Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar’s directives, urged officials to swiftly identify and dismantle hazardous structures that could collapse.
This move follows a tragic incident where a compound wall fell at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, claiming seven lives amidst the recent storm. The city has faced extensive damage, and the public remains at risk from potentially dangerous trees, walls, and buildings.
Special teams comprising emergency services and city officials have been deployed to manage immediate threats, with demolished structures in various areas, including Binnymill Road and Malleswaram, receiving particular attention. The aim is to ensure swift action and minimize public inconvenience during ongoing adverse weather conditions.
