Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, on Sunday, extended his support to the Banjara community, criticizing the BJP-led Delhi government's neglect of their pressing issues. Speaking at a convention held at the Delhi Congress office, Yadav emphasized the Banjara community's significant contributions to the city's social and economic fabric.

Yadav accused former administrations of overlooking crucial concerns such as housing, livelihood, and representation. He reiterated that the Banjara community is integral to Delhi's cultural diversity and underscored the necessity for urgent attention. Under Congress rule, the community received recognition and representation, addressing many welfare issues.

Traditionally known for trade, the Banjara community now engages in small businesses and manufacturing. Despite progress in education and permanent settlement, members face poor living conditions. Yadav promised to advocate for their demands at government platforms. The event, attended by community leaders, took place at Rajiv Bhawan.
