Omar Abdullah's Vision for Sustainable Urban Development in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reinforced his commitment to sustainable urban development in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the need for holistic approaches and efficient town planning. Discussions focused on challenges, policy reforms, urban projects, transport initiatives, and resolving bottlenecks to improve urban infrastructure and quality of life.

In a recent meeting held at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reiterated his government's dedication to fostering sustainable urban development. Focusing on enhancing urban living quality, Abdullah emphasized comprehensive planning.

The gathering aimed to evaluate the Housing and Urban Development Department's progress. Discussions covered funding issues, policy gaps, and the roles of various development authorities, impacting the state's urban infrastructure. Project updates from Jammu and Srinagar Smart City initiatives were also reviewed.

Abdullah directed increasing e-bus frequency under FAME-II and PM e-bus Sewa schemes, especially for hospital connectivity. Reviews of urban schemes like AMRUT 2.0 were conducted to address project implementation challenges effectively and ensure progress.
