Cyclone Dana's impact on Odisha and West Bengal primarily involved heavy rains, though major infrastructure was spared from severe damage. By Friday, flight and rail operations had resumed after the cyclone's landfall. The storm, however, uprooted trees and electric poles across both states.

Despite the ferocity of the cyclone, Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, proudly announced a 'zero casualty mission,' stating there were no reports of fatalities. In contrast, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reported the cyclone resulted in one death. Evacuations in West Bengal saw over 2 lakh people moved from vulnerable areas.

The aftermath left large parts of Kolkata waterlogged after torrential rains, affecting traffic and causing flooding across the city, including key hospitals. Relief and restoration activities are underway in the affected regions with multiple teams from the disaster management force deployed.
