The Amethi district administration has achieved a milestone by building 30 kilometers of roads using processed plastic waste, a move that saved Rs 45 lakh, officials confirmed on Thursday.
This initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana showcases how incorporating processed plastic can enhance road quality and tackle environmental issues simultaneously.
Chief Development Officer Suraj Patel revealed that waste management units in Amethi's four tehsils process the plastic waste, which is then mixed with bitumen for stronger and more water-resistant roads.
