Cyclonic storm 'Dana', which formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, is predicted to unleash heavy rainfall in several southern districts of West Bengal, including Kolkata, as announced by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
A significant number of trains have been canceled by Eastern and South Eastern railways on October 24 and 25 as a precautionary measure in response to the impending cyclone.
The storm is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm and is expected to make landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra port in Odisha on Friday morning, with wind speeds reaching up to 120 kmph, according to IMD forecasts.
