In a brazen attack, assailants targeted the Turkish state-run aerospace and defence company TUSAS, killing three people and injuring several others. The assault took place on Wednesday when attackers detonated an explosive and opened fire, as confirmed by the Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
The attack took place in Ankara's outskirts, specifically in the Kahramankazan district, according to local mayor Selim Cirpanoglum. Helicopters were seen circling the area after at least one assailant detonated a bomb, and others managed to breach the complex.
The motive behind the attack is unclear, with past incidents in Turkey linked to Kurdish militants, the Islamic State group, or leftist extremists. The attack resulted in heightened security measures, as officials worked to restore calm and ensure public safety.
