In a tragic incident, four young men lost their lives after their SUV collided with a tree on the Khargupur-Itiyathok road, confirmed police authorities on Friday.
The individuals, identified as Abhishek Sahu, Dharm Singh, Ram Bachchan Pandey, and Deepu, were all in their 20s. Authorities report the speeding Bolero lost control before ramming into the tree. Rescue efforts were in vain as all four succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
The location has a grim history of fatal accidents. A previous incident in April led District Magistrate Neha Sharma to designate the road as an accident-prone zone, resulting in added speed bumps and warning signs.
