The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has announced a strategic move to incorporate Mizo as a subject in schools within its territory, an official has confirmed.
This decision emerged from the CADC's Executive Committee meeting held on Friday. The initiative will see Mizo being taught across all government-run, local body, and Samagra Shiksha schools from primary to upper levels in the Chakma jurisdiction, the official noted.
To ensure the successful roll-out of this educational initiative, the council plans to recruit Mizo language teachers, contingent upon receiving necessary funding from the Government of Mizoram. The CADC's education department has been instructed to submit a funding proposal to the state government to facilitate the implementation of this language education plan.
