An expert shooter from Hyderabad has been enlisted to neutralize a man-eating leopard in Rajasthan's Udaipur district. Multiple teams comprising the army, police, and forest department personnel are actively searching for the animal.
The leopard, which has reportedly killed seven people, remains elusive. Forest authorities, alarmed by the rising death toll, issued a shoot-to-kill order on Tuesday. This decision followed the death of Kamla Kanwar, a 55-year-old woman, mauled outside her house while feeding livestock.
Despite attempts to tranquilize or trap the leopard, Deputy Conservator of Forest Ajay Chittora confirmed that Nawab Shafat Ali Khan, a noted shooter, has been called upon for assistance. Teams are deploying various tactics, including cage setups and camera traps, to locate the animal.
