Typhoon Bebinca wreaked havoc in eastern Jiangsu province, resulting in two fatalities and extensive damage from torrential rains and severe winds, according to state media reports on Tuesday.

In Zhoushi Town, located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Shanghai, two residents were fatally electrocuted by a falling high-voltage power line on Monday, reported state broadcaster CCTV.

These are the only confirmed casualties of Bebinca, which swept across Shanghai and neighboring provinces on Monday, causing widespread flooding, power outages, and the evacuation of over 414,000 people. Authorities closed schools and suspended flights, ferries, and train services. By early Tuesday, the storm had downgraded to a tropical storm, but heavy rains continued to threaten several regions.
