IIT Bombay Ensures Quality Cement Roads in Mumbai
Mumbai's civic body has enlisted IIT Bombay as a third-party quality control agency to monitor the quality of the city's cement concrete roads. The BMC signed an MoU with IIT Bombay to oversee tests and inspections, emphasizing high standards. The initiative covers 701 km of roads in two phases.

The Mumbai civic body has appointed IIT Bombay as an independent quality control agency to maintain high standards in the development of cement concrete roads in the city.
In an official statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Bombay to oversee the quality of road construction.
The initiative covers 701 kilometers of roads, with 392 km in the first phase and 309 km in the second. IIT Bombay will conduct various quality control tests and perform surprise visits and inspections to uphold the project's standards.
