Nine individuals succumbed to rain-related incidents across Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, state's relief department officials announced on Sunday.

Tragedy struck Lalitpur where three people drowned, and two lives each were lost in Pratapgarh, Aligarh, and Siddharth Nagar districts due to similar incidents, the relief department confirmed.

The deaths occurred between 6:30 PM on Saturday and 6:30 PM on Sunday, coinciding with an average rainfall of 1.7 mm over the state. Among the 75 districts, Mathura experienced the highest downpour, recording 31.8 mm of rainfall during this period.
