U.S. Nears Agreement to Supply Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine
The United States is close to finalizing an agreement to provide Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles capable of reaching deep into Russia. The supply of Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) could significantly shift the conflict's strategic dynamics by putting more Russian territories within striking distance.
The United States is on the brink of reaching an agreement to supply Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles, potentially altering the strategic landscape of the ongoing conflict with Russia, according to U.S. officials.
Sources reveal that Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) are expected to be included in a weapons package to be announced this autumn. While a final decision is still pending, the inclusion of these missiles could enable Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory, complicating Russia's offensive capabilities.
Currently, the U.S. is addressing technical issues before the shipment can proceed, with efforts underway to adapt the missiles for non-Western fighter jets in Ukraine's inventory.
