Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, has stressed the need to balance economic progress with ecological sustainability, highlighting their interconnected nature.
Speaking at IIT Bombay's 'Ideas4LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment' event, Yadav emphasized that a human-centric approach to development is insufficient. He urged citizens to embrace an ecologically conscious model of development, promoting harmonious coexistence between all life forms.
Yadav also highlighted the Indian government's achievements in renewable energy and initiatives like the Soil Health Card to reduce chemical use in agriculture. Special Secretary Tanmay Kumar added that climate change poses significant challenges, urging the academic community to aid in policy-making and sustainable living.
