Kerala Braces for Torrential Rains as IMD Issues Multiple Alerts
Several districts in Kerala are experiencing severe rainfall leading to waterlogging and traffic issues. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for seven districts and a yellow alert for others. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has warned residents in vulnerable areas to move to safer locations.

Multiple districts in Kerala were hit by heavy rains on Friday morning, causing significant waterlogging and disrupting traffic across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an orange alert in seven districts.
Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod are under orange alert for heavy rainfall, with predictions of thunderstorms and gusty winds expected to reach up to 50 kmph. Other districts faced yellow alerts except for Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has advised residents in landslide and flood-prone areas to move to safer locations. Those living near river banks and downstream of dams are also urged to evacuate as per authorities' instructions.
