Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena inaugurated the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) new 10-acre park named 'Vaishnavi' in the Ashok Vihar-II area of the national capital on Tuesday. The event marked the completion of a project whose foundation stone was laid in December of the previous year.
"Today, we see the fruition of our efforts as we inaugurate the beautiful 'Vaishnavi' park. This project, developed at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore, now stands as a testament to our commitment to creating green spaces in urban areas," Saxena stated during the inauguration ceremony.
Saxena reminisced about the area's earlier state, describing it as filthy and uninhabitable. He emphasized the crucial role of local residents in maintaining the park, despite the DDA's best efforts. He further noted the DDA's ongoing commitment to develop similar green spaces across the city.
