In a shocking incident in northeast Delhi, two rickshaw-pullers, Istekar and Deepak, narrowly escaped death when a truck ran over people sleeping on a divider. The truck dragged both men, causing them injuries and a traumatic experience.
"The rope was around my neck, and I felt like I was in a high-speed boat," described Istekar, who has four children to care for. Deepak echoed the sentiment, adding how the rope burned his hands. Both men were too terrified to report the incident.
With only 10 beds available at a nearby shelter home, they were forced to sleep on the roadside. Tragically, three men lost their lives in this tragic accident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday near Shastri Park Metro Station.
