A tiger was found dead in Bihar's Valmiki Tiger Reserve, located in the West Champaran district, officials announced on Friday.
The carcass was discovered two days prior by patrolling forest personnel, who noted pug marks of two tigers at the scene. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden PK Gupta indicated a possible fight between the two felines.
Further details, including the exact age and cause of death, await results from a post-mortem examination conducted on Friday. Preliminary evidence points to a natural death, ruling out hunting and poisoning.
