Mizoram House Fires: A Grim Toll Over the Years
In Mizoram, four individuals lost their lives in house fires this year. Since 2020, 176 house fire incidents were reported, with a total of 21 fatalities. The deadliest year was 2022 with 15 deaths, whereas 2023 saw no fatalities, officials reported.

Four people were killed in incidents of house fires in Mizoram so far this year, officials said on Friday.
A total of 176 incidents of house fires have been reported since 2020, resulting in 21 fatalities, they added.
Officials noted that the highest number of deaths due to house fires occurred in 2022, which saw 15 people losing their lives across the state.
Interestingly, no deaths were recorded in 2023, while one person each died in 2021 and 2020.
