Tripura Battling Unprecedented Flood: Relief Efforts Underway

The state of Tripura is grappling with an unprecedented flood disaster. Chief Minister Manik Saha confirmed the arrival of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams equipped with relief materials to aid in the state's relief operations.

Recent heavy rainfall triggered landslides and flooding, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and displacing over 32,000 residents who have sought refuge in 330 relief camps. The central government, led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has assured full support, including deploying helicopters and additional rescue boats.

The government has been working relentlessly around the clock to address the emergency. "We are closely monitoring the situation and providing all possible assistance to the affected people," stated Saha. The water levels in major rivers have surpassed danger marks, leading to severe flooding and numerous landslides, further complicating road connectivity.
