Shogun Organics, a division of the Safex Chemicals Group, announced on Wednesday the development and patenting of Renofluthrin, India's first domestically created mosquito repellent molecule.

The company collaborated with Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) for the molecule's research and development, leveraging Shogun's expertise and GCPL's market presence. Shogun Organics holds exclusive patent rights and has partnered with GCPL for its implementation within India.

Neeraj Jindal, Safex Chemicals Group Director, declared Renofluthrin as a significant achievement in India's molecular development journey. After a decade of investment and scientific effort, it positions India as self-reliant in mosquito control technology. Renofluthrin offers double the effectiveness of current products and prolonged mosquito repellent capabilities, lasting up to two hours post usage. It has been rigorously tested and approved by the Central Insecticide Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC) to combat multiple mosquito species such as Anopheles, Aedes, and Culex.

The 2021 acquisition of Shogun Organics by Safex Chemicals, which expanded Safex's footprint into the home care market, underscores the company's commitment to innovation and market growth, backed by financial support from ChrisCap.
