Kerala Ministers Seek Rs 2,000 Crore for Landslide Rehabilitation
Kerala ministers, following an evaluation meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the July 30 landslides, expressed hope for positive consideration of their rehabilitation requests. The state seeks Rs 2,000 crore for reconstruction efforts and further assistance for livelihood support and infrastructure rebuilding.

Kerala ministers who attended the evaluation meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed optimism about the Union government's response to their post-landslide rehabilitation requests.
State Public Works Minister P A Mohammed Riyas conveyed that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the need for comprehensive reconstruction efforts. Revenue Minister K Rajan highlighted the region's Rs 1,200 crore loss and stressed the necessity of Rs 2,000 crore exclusively for rehabilitation.
SC/ST Department Minister O R Kelu shared that the Prime Minister spent more time understanding the disaster's magnitude. He suggested conducting a study on the disaster's cause and showed a positive reception to the state's demands. Further, Riyas noted that a detailed financial estimate would be submitted soon, and PM Modi assured that the state would receive adequate financial support.
