The collapse happened at around 4:50 am in Shahbaz village. Authorities had managed to evacuate 52 residents, including 13 children, before the incident occurred. Two victims, Lal Mohammad and Rukhsana, were rescued and admitted to the hospital.

Municipal Commissioner Kailas Shinde announced that the cause of the collapse, which involved a building just 10 years old, is under investigation. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed emergency aid for the injured and affected individuals.
