Two young boys tragically drowned in Ujarnatand Dam in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Sunday, according to local police.

The incident occurred when a group of friends from Balumath Harijan Tola went to the dam for an afternoon bath, as detailed by Vikrant Upadhyay, officer-in-charge of Balumath police station.

The victims, identified as Afroz Ansari (9) and Rupesh Kumar (10), ventured into deeper waters and subsequently drowned. Their friends alerted the villagers, who promptly retrieved the boys and rushed them to a community health center. Tragically, doctors declared them dead upon arrival. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
