Heavy rains lashed the city on Wednesday evening, throwing normal life out of gear in many areas of the state capital. The downpour led to traffic jams, with long queues of vehicles struggling through waterlogged roads. Several underpasses, including Malvia Nagar and Arjun Nagar, were inundated, complicating vehicular movement further.
According to a meteorological department spokesperson, the rainfall is likely to increase in eastern Rajasthan, particularly in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions over the next few days. From Wednesday morning till 5:30 pm, Alwar recorded 32 mm of rain, while Karauli and Sangaria saw 12 mm and 0.5 mm, respectively.
Despite the rainfall, other parts of Rajasthan reported high temperatures, with Sri Ganganagar hitting a maximum of 44.6 degrees Celsius. The weather department forecasts predominantly dry conditions in the Jodhpur division for the next three to four days, although light to moderate rains with strong winds are expected in parts of the Bikaner division.
