In a heartbreaking event, a two-storey under-construction house collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district on Monday, resulting in the death of a labourer and injuries to two others, according to police officials.
The collapse occurred in Matta village in the early hours, with police being informed around 5 am, as reported by Durga Prasad, the in-charge of Gadasarai police station.
The victims were reportedly sleeping in the under-construction building when the incident happened, possibly due to the ongoing rains in the area, a local resident indicated. Police had to employ cutters to clear the debris and successfully rescue the trapped labourers. However, one of them, identified as Chotu Mordwaj (30), sadly succumbed to his injuries. An investigation has been launched to further understand the cause of the collapse.
