Japan Eases Travel Advisory for Assam, Excludes Four Districts
Japan has relaxed its travel advisory for Assam, allowing tourists except in four districts with AFSPA in effect. This follows the advisory downgrade from Level Two to Level One after improved security. Australia previously eased restrictions, and New Zealand's advisory is under review.

Japan has updated its travel guidelines for Assam, as stated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Tourists can visit the state, barring Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, and Charaideo, where AFSPA remains enforced.
This decision comes after the advisory was downgraded from Level Two to Level One, reflecting the state's enhanced security environment. Japan is the second nation, after Australia, to revise its advisory on Assam.
Australia lifted restrictions in February for districts except those under AFSPA. The Chief Minister mentioned that discussions with New Zealand about revising their advisory are forthcoming.
